Overview

Prairiewoods Franciscan Spirituality Center is a retreat and conference center focused on ecology, spirituality and holistic health. It is nestled in 67 acres of prairie and woodland in Hiawatha, Iowa, just north of Cedar Rapids. Prairiewoods is a nonprofit offering more than 600 programs and retreats each year, holistic services like massage and reflexology, an outdoor labyrinth, healthy meals made by our chefs, extensive gardens that provide more than 3,000 pounds of fresh produce to local food pantries each year, lodging for 35 in the Guest House and for 2 in our solar-powered hermitages, Wi-Fi enabled meeting spaces for 2 to 70 people, and free access to 67 acres of quiet nature through 2.5 miles of walking trails. Our grounds are completely free and open to the public, and many of our programs are offered for a free-will donation. We are 100% solar powered and model extensive sustainable practices.
