Crawford Creek Recreation Area is a modern, 252-acre park, located 3 miles south of Battle Creek, IA. Established in 1975, the park has become an oasis for those seeking a quick get away or a weekend retreat. The 62-acre Crawford Creek Lake serves as a major recreational and fishing area, abundantly stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie and channel catfish. Any size motors may be used on the lake, but must be operated at a “no wake” speed. A concrete boat ramp, fishing jetties, and docks provide easy fishing access. Please be mindful of the Rules and Regulations when utilizing the park's resources.

Camping is on a first come, first serve basis.  CAMPING OPENS Last weekend of April!!!

Operating Hours & Seasons

Camping at CCRA will open April 26th and run through October 20th, 2023 - depending on freezing weather. Camping is on a first come, first serve basis. Water will not be accessible outside of these dates. For additional rental or camping dates, please contact the ICCB office at (712) 364-3300 or zhall@idacountyia.us. 

 

Key Regulations:

  • The park opens at 6:00 AM and closes every night at 10:30 PM. 
  • Hunting is permitted south of the swimming beach and on the west side of the park. 
  • Non-toxic shot is encouraged for hunting migratory waterfowl, resident game, or furbearers with a firearm on ICCB owned areas. 
  • No privately owned animals may run at-large, off-leash in the camp ground area. Exceptions follow Iowa DNR dog training and hunting regulations
  • It is unlawful to harvest grass carp at Crawford Creek Recreation Area.
  • Crawford Creek Lake is NO WAKE. 
  • Parking is only allowed at designated parking areas. 
  • No off-road driving. 
  • The maximum speed limit in all ICCB parks is 20 mph.
