Spring Creek Flats

Discover Spring Creek Flats in LaPorte City

Spring Creek Flats encompasses 262 acres near LaPorte City.  The area includes a pond just off the Cedar Valley Nature Trail.  Within the park boundaries are intermittent stretches of prairie as well as flood plain forest.  The only access point is via the Cedar Valley Nature Trial at McFarlane Park.  This forested area supports habitat for woodland species such as deer and turkey.  Bird watchers will find plenty of opportunities to encounter a variety of song birds and non-game avian species.  

Bird watchers will find an abundance of woodland bird species within the area.  The Cedar Valley Nature Trail (CVNT) that passes through the area provides scenic views and access to much of the wildlife within the park from the trail.  If you are planning on hunting the area, your gun needs to be cased and unloaded when using the Cedar Valley Nature Trail to access the area.
