Morgan Creek Park


A wide variety of natural and recreational features can be found at the 352 acre Morgan Creek County Park.


Camping

Camping is a popular outdoor recreation activity at Morgan Creek Park. Campgrounds are open generally from April 15-October 15, ground conditions permitting. (check our official website, LinnCountyIowa.gov/Conservation for details on whether conditions allow for extension of the season)  Morgan Creek Family Campground has modern sites with electricity and water. Campsites are equipped with a firepad and and picnic table with showers and restrooms nearby. Sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All campers must self-register and pay the required fee. A dumping station for use by campers who camped in Linn County parks is available.  Firewood is available at the campground host site.

Group Campground

A "pack-in" group campground is located at the south end of the day-use area.  A short walk is required to reach the campground.  Capacity is 15 tents or 45 people.  Facilities provided include: 6 picnic tables, 2 fire rings with grills, water spigot, primitive (pit) restroom.  The group campground can be reserved online by clicking here.

Arboretum & Butterfly Garden

The arboretum  is plentiful of over  250 species of native and exotic trees and shrubs.

Park is open 4 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Facilities or the park may be closed on occasion due to extreme weather conditions or when it becomes inaccessible due to naturally occurring conditions.
