A wide variety of natural and recreational features can be found at Morgan Creek County Park, located off of Worcester Road in southwest Linn County. Steep wooded hills in the east and gently rolling hills in the west, combined with the stream valley of Morgan Creek create habitat for a wide variety of flora and fauna. Deer, squirrels, pheasants, fox, nesting bluebirds, beaver, raccoons, snow trillium and native prairie grasses are just some of the natural features found in this 352-acre park.

Morgan Creek has several great features in addition to the wonderful wildlife habitat: the Morgan Creek Arboretum, modern campground, reservable open shelter, playground, and extensive trail system - including groomed cross-country ski trails.

Family Campground

Camping is a popular outdoor recreation activity at Morgan Creek Park. Campgrounds are open generally from April 15-October 15, ground conditions permitting. Morgan Creek Family Campground has modern sites with electricity and water. Campsites are equipped with a firepad and and picnic table with showers and restrooms nearby. Sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All campers must self-register and pay the required fee. A dumping station for use by campers who camped in Linn County parks is available. Camping discount booklets are also available from the park office and campground hosts. Firewood is available at the campground host site.

Group Campground

A "pack-in" group campground is located at the south end of the day-use area.  A short walk is required to reach the campground.  Capacity is 15 tents or 45 people.  Facilities provided include: 6 picnic tables, 2 fire rings with grills, water spigot, primitive (pit) restroom.  The group campground can be reserved online by clicking here.

Morgan Creek Shelter

The Morgan Creek Shelter is an open air facility that can be reserved during the park operating season.  Click here for amenities and to make a reservation.

Arboretum & Butterfly Garden

The entrance to the Arboretum is east of the family campground entrance off Worchester Road. A one mile crushed limestone trail loops and winds through over 250 species of trees and shrubs.  The plan collections include: native and exotic shade trees; ornamental trees and shrubs; prairie grasses and forbs; crabapples; lilacs; and the butterfly garden.
