    Rental Contract Agreement

    1. The person responsible for the rental must be at least 18 years of age. No minors are to be left unattended.
    2. Please be courteous and notify the office if you decide not to use the shelter.
    3. If YOU decide to cancel, there is no refund.
    4. The shelter and surrounding area must be cleaned and vacated by 10:30 PM.
    5. All fires are to be in receptacles only. Absolutely no ashes in the trash barrels.
    6. There is no keg beer or hard liquor allowed in the shelter.
    7. The Park Rangers reserve the right to remove any pet should problems arise.
    8. Park Rangers are given the authority to refuse rental privileges and rescind any and all rental permits for cause.
    9. All rules and regulations of Black Hawk County Conservation Board facilities and parks are in effect.

    Cancellation Policy

    Please contact the Black Hawk County Conservation Board as soon as possible if you need to cancel.

    Should you decide to cancel, there are no refunds. 

    Hickory Shelter is an open air shelter with the capacity to seat 75 people.

    Additional tents, dunk tanks, bouncy houses or any other additional structures are prohibited.

    Check-In / Out Availability Check-in is after 06:00 AM and check-out is before 10:30 PM.

    Location Hickory Shelter is located in Hickory Hills Park. Follow park signs leading to the shelter.

    Fees

    Hickory Shelter rents for $50/day.

    If you decide to cancel, there is no refund. 

    A date change will be allowed ONE time only & can only be made by calling the Conservation Office at (319) 433-7275 and will be assessed a $25 administrative fee. 

    Hours of Operation & Seasons

    Hickory Shelter is open from spring through fall, weather permitting. This shelter can be reserved from 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM.
