Volunteering, Charitable Gifts and Donations

Butler County Conservation welcomes gifts of time, talent, and treasure to be used for the sustainability and enhancement of our parks and trails for present and future generations.  Below are ways you can make a difference!  

 

1.      Volunteering

Ever since the Butler County Conservation Board was created, we have worked closely with volunteers to acquire open space, develop facilities and provide educational and recreational programs.  Whether you are an individual, group, or corporate team, we have volunteer projects that are ready to be completed. To discuss volunteering and/or serve as a campground host for the Butler County Conservation Board please call 319-346-6551 or email conservation@butlercounty.iowa.gov . 

2.      Gifts & Donations

There are many ways to donate financially to the Butler County Conservation Board. We have many ongoing and one-time projects available that need your help.  If you are interested in donating monies under $1000, please use the “donate now” link below, you may also send a check to Butler County Conservation Board, or for cash donations, you can stop by the Allan and Fayette Meyer Nature Center located at 27887 195th St. Clarksville, Iowa.  When using the “donate now” button below, please include wishes for how that money should be applied in the comments section.  For example:  "Nature Center", "Lodge", "Rolling Prairie Trail", "picnic table in loving memory of" or "Sportsmans' Park".  

  a. Park or Project Gift:  Monies donated to a specific park or project.  

  b. Tribute Gift:  Leave a lasting tribute in your favorite park in accordance with the values shared by the person you wish to celebrate.  Examples include picnic tables, benches, tree planting, etc.

  c. Scholarships:  Provide a child with an outdoor experience that they will remember for a lifetime!

3.      Charitable or Sustained Donations for Conservation

a.       For donations exceeding $1,000, we kindly invite you to contact us directly so that we may discuss your generous support in detail.  An endowment fund has been established at the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa to provide a long-term reliable funding source for Butler County Conservation now, and forever! Because these funds are a permanent endowment fund, your gift may be eligible for a 25% state tax credit.  Please contact our Executive Director, Matt Wilken at MWilken@butlercounty.iowa.gov or call 319-346-6551 and ask for Matt.  

b.      Donate through the Friends of Butler County Conservation.  The Friends of the Butler County Conservation is the non-profit organization that benefits Butler County Conservation.
