Event Summary

Spend a morning diving into the fascinating world of cold-blooded creatures! In this half-day intensive, we’ll explore the incredible adaptations that help reptiles thrive in our Iowa prairies and woodlands. From the armor-like shells of turtles to the amazing sensory world of snakes, campers will get an up-close look at what makes these animals so unique.

We’ll go on a "herp hike" to search for sun-loving residents, learn how to identify common local species, and even meet some live reptile ambassadors! It’s time to shed those myths and discover why reptiles are a vital part of our ecosystem.
