Preschool / Kindergarten - Insects (Butterflies)

JUN 02 2026 9:00 AM

University 40 , Calhoun County

Event Summary

This morning adventure is all about the magic of butterflies and how they live in our local outdoors. The program will include a story time where we will learn about the hungry caterpillar! Next, the group heads out on a short nature walk to peek under leaves and look for real caterpillars munching on plants. This hands-on exploring helps the kids see exactly where these insects live and grow. We will also offer a break for a "nectar" snack to refuel just like a butterfly visiting a flower. During this time, the children learn how butterflies use their long tongues to drink and their feet to taste. The morning continues with a colorful craft. We will also play some games, sending every little explorer home with a better understanding of how to be a friend to nature.

Responsible adult must attend with child. (Babysitter, Parent, Grandparent etc.)
