Chasing Fireflies, Counting Flying Bats, and Glow Games

Event Summary

Observe the natural magic of glowing fireflies and flying bats at this twilight and night time program. At twilight we will observe and count the bats coming out of the bat houses and chase fireflies to catch and release later. We will talk about firefly habitat, their habits, and the best way to catch and observe them. Then, armed with jars and electric lanterns we will spread out over the park and chase fireflies for collection. As the night deepens we will meet at the barn at 9:30 pm and release our fireflies together. We will finish the night by playing with Glow Disks, Glow Golf, Glow Dart, Glow Ball, and Glow Darts.
