Rental Contract Agreement

Facility Contract for Jefferson County Park Prairie Ridge Campground Prairie Ridge Campsite Rental Agreement

By your agreement with these terms and conditions, you represent that you are 18 years or older (21 years of age if beer or wine will be present at your campsite) and that you are authorized to make the reservation on behalf of the group you have listed. You further agree to assume full responsibility for the acts, negligence or omissions of all visitors, occupants, activities or actions while utilizing said facilities.

You also agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jefferson County, Jefferson County Conservation Board, all of its employees, Board Members, agent, and volunteers for any and all claims that may arise from the use or occupancy of this County facility.

Additionally, you agree that you have read and understand the CANCELLATION and REFUND POLICIES concerning this reservation for this facility; which, are outlined at the bottom of this agreement.

You are reserving a facility in a Jefferson County Conservation Board Park. ALL COUNTY PARK RULES AND STATE LAWS ARE ENFORCED. The complete rules can be found on our website, www.JeffersonCountyConservation.com. It is your responsibility to know the rules and regulations. Contact the Conservation Office if you have any questions about park rules, policies or special requests.

Campsites must be kept clean at all times. Cleanliness is at the discretion of the park staff. Failure to clean up the campsite or surrounding area as outlined, or failure to comply with park rules or state laws may result in enforcement action. Jefferson County Conservation may take any legal action necessary to recover damages to county property.

CHECK-IN TIME: After 3:00 PM on day of arrival

CHECK-OUT TIME: Before 3:00 PM on day of departure

(Please note: No set-up or take-down of equipment allowed between midnight and 5:00 AM. Quiet hours are between 10:00 PM and 9:00 AM)

$30.00 per night (Non-Refundable)

$4.00 Non-refundable processing fee will be added to each reservation

GETTING TO YOUR CAMPSITE

A camping unit is required. For Prairie Ridge campground, a camping unit is defined as a trailer or motor vehicle specifically designed for such use as a temporary residence in a campground. Sleeping tents, daytime tents with bottoms, or rugs will not be permitted anywhere in the campground.

Upon arrival, set up your camping unit on the reserved site, ONE CAMPING UNIT PER CAMPSITE. Confirm your arrival by submitting a self-registration envelope, located at the campground registration station, with the name/address and reservation confirmation number and post the camping receipt from registration envelope on the provided site marker. (See the registration kiosk located in the campground for more information.)

INFORMATION

·         Campers and Motor Homes must be currently registered and licensed according to State requirements and must be operable and/or have immediate means of transportation of unit and kept in good repair.

·         If leaving your camper unattended for any length of time, Jefferson County Conservation Board is not responsible for loss, theft, or damages. If you will be away from your camper for more than 24-hours, please let the Ranger know.

·         Fires are permitted in charcoal grills, gas grills, or in provided fire pits only. No cans, bottles, metals, plastics, pressboard, wood with nails, etc. shall be put into the fire pit. FIREWOOD ONLY! Violators will be asked to leave.

·         A violation of any local, state, or federal law by a member of the camping party or their guests is cause for revocation of camping privileges and the entire camping party will be required to leave without refund.

VISITORS            

All visitors (other than registered overnight campers) must depart the park by 10:00 PM closing time.

CLEAN-UP

Renters are required to clean up the campsite and surrounding area - returning them to the condition you received them. Place refuse in provided dumpster containers. Plan to have the area cleaned and people departed prior to checkout time of 3:00 PM.

PARKING

Parking is confined to designated parking areas. Parking or driving off roadways or parking areas is prohibited. See Section 7. Traffic, Parking and Off-Road Vehicles and Section 1. Camping in our full rules concerning vehicle parking.

MUSIC

Section 8: Noise-Producing Devices: It shall be unlawful to operate or use any radio, television, stereo, musical instrument, electric generating plants, power saws, or any similar equipment in or on any area in such a manner as to create excessive noise and/or disturb other persons. Said equipment shall not be used between the hours of 10:00 PM and 9:00 AM.

DIRECTIONAL SIGNS & DECORATIONS

Temporary, free standing directional signs are allowed – not to be attached to park furniture, signposts or other facilities. Small stakes for temporary signs may be used and must be removed at conclusion of the event. Throwing of rice, confetti, glitter, or artificial flower petals is prohibited. Decorations are allowed as long as they are free standing or not affixed in a manner that would damage any surface of the facility, floor of the facility or the facility itself (tape, tacks, staples that may cause damage to the facility are prohibited. The use of painter’s tape, scotch tape or string is recommended).

BEER AND WINE

Only beer with an alcohol content of 5% or less by weight and wine with an alcohol content of 17% or less by weight may be consumed in county parks. Drinking of these beverages is not permitted on roads or in parking areas. Hard liquor and wine with alcohol content in excess of 17% by weight or other alcoholic liquors are NOT to be consumed in county parks. Keg beer is NOT allowed.

PETS

All pets must be on a leash at all times, free roaming animals are prohibited (with exception of service animals). Pets must be cleaned up after at all times. Pets shall not be left unattended outside the camping unit. Park Rangers have the right to have any pets removed from the campground should problems arise.

Cancellation Policy

 Consider this policy prior to purchasing a reservation. Please understand at the time of booking your reservation you immediately prohibit other people from reserving and utilizing the facility; therefore, they will go elsewhere to locate a facility for that date.

 Name of person on the reservation will be the only person who can cancel or reschedule a facility reservation. All cancellations or requests to reschedule date of reservation cannot be done online and must be made by calling and /or emailing the Jefferson County Park Office, (641) 472-4421, at least 14 days in advance of the original event reservation date.

If a rescheduling of a reservation is needed, that rescheduled date must be submitted and approved by the Conservation Office at least 14 days prior to the original event reservation date. A reservation holder has only ONE opportunity to reschedule their original reservation. If a facility reservation is cancelled by Jefferson County Conservation due to a natural disaster or if by some means the facility is unusable, a full refund will be issued to the person that made the original reservation.
