Camping reservations for ALL sites for the week of the Clay County Fair must be made by calling CCCB at 712-262-2187.

·         You can make on-line reservations at any time on Mycountyparks.com up to one year in advance.

·         We have a 3-night weekend minimum (Thurs., Fri., and Sat. nights) for our reserved campsites except for the following holidays:  Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day.  The minimum for the holidays will be a 5 night stay.

·         Check-in time for your park stay is 3:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. when the park closes for the day.

·         Checkout is 1:00 p.m. 

·          Please understand reservations are not transferable and at the time of booking your reservation you immediately prohibit others from reserving and utilizing that camp site.  Should YOU decide to CANCEL your reservation, there are NO REFUNDS! 

 

55 acre park with 61 campsites (each site is approx. 54 ft. long), 3 cabins, 5 primitive tent sites, 15 acre pond, hiking trail, exercise trail, fishing, beach, concession stand which includes paddle boat, canoe, kayak and paddle board rentals, playground, enclosed, reservable shelter and open-air shelter.

  • Scharnberg Park has a 15 acre pond that has bass, bluegill and channel catfish.
  • The Urban Trout Stocking program stocks 1,500 - 2,000 Rainbow trout in October or November and January or February of each year.  See limitations in the "Closures" section below.
  • Access to the pond is made easier by a handicap accessible fishing pier as well as two 50 foot rock jetties.
  • There are 3 concrete tornado shelters located through-out the Park for your protection.
  • Included in the camping fees is 20/30/50 Amp service, water, as well as wireless internet.
  • The campground will hold 61 campers.  Of these 61 sites, 21 are full hookups with sewer.
  • Firewood available.
  • If you don't own a camper, we have three cabins available for rent year-round at MyCountyParks.com.
  • There are also 5 primitive tent sites.
  • Shower house with single and family style shower rooms.
  • The Park has 2 playground areas, one for 2-4 yr. olds and one for 5-12 yr. olds.
  • The Park also has a playscape.
  • One Shelter available for reservations May 1 - October 15.and can be reserved on-line at mycountyparks.com.
  • One open air shelter available for picnicking on a first come-first serve basis.
  • Concession stand open during the summer months. (Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend) (Weather permitting)
  • From horseshoes, hiking, fishing, paddle boats and canoe rentals, a concession stand and a beautiful beach to swim, Scharnberg Park has something to offer everyone.
