Frytown Conservation Area


The Frytown Conservation Area is located ten miles southwest of Iowa City at the junction of Highway 1 and Angle Road (2198 Angle Road SW, Kalona, IA 52247)

 

It features 94 acres of wildlife habitat comprised of oak/hickory timber, including a 30-acre tree and shrub planting. A trail winds from the entrance to the western boundary of the property, providing access for hikers as well as hunters.



Location

This oak/hickory timber provides excellent hunting opportunities for squirrel, rabbit, turkey and white-tail deer.  Hikers can enjoy the solitude of the wooded trail as well as enjoy plenty of off-trail opportunities to explore the woodlands.
