Celebrating the Vernal Equinox: Yoga and Forest Bathing

Hartman Reserve Nature Center, Black Hawk County

Sunday, March 20, 2022

Enjoy an awakened relaxation into your body and open yourself to healing through Yoga + Forest Bathing! You can sign up for just one or both of these activities that will center around the theme of renew and awakening your body to wellness through nature.

You can first join Steffany Kroeger at 8:00 - 9:00 AM for gentle movement, breath work, and meditation intended to reduce stress, increase relaxation, and ground the body/mind. No experience is required. We encourage you to bring your own mat; additional mats will be available. Steffany is an experienced registered yoga teacher and a mental health counselor.

Steffany's guided movement will prepare you for forest bathing from 9:15 - 11:45 AM, led by Connie Svoboda, Certified Forest Therapy Guide. Forest bathing is a slow-paced, therapeutic, guided walk that promotes wellness through a series of gentle, sensory-opening invitations. It’s a time for individual, quiet reflection. Studies have shown a wide array of health benefits to being in nature, especially in the cardiovascular and immune systems, and to help stabilize mood and improve cognition. A growing number of health professionals are prescribing a walk in the woods to complement or even substitute for traditional medicine!

*** You may sign up for both experiences, or just one of them! ***

IF YOU WANT BOTH EXPERIENCES, YOU MUST SIGN UP IN TWO PLACES:

For the Yoga class 8 - 9:00 AM ($10) sign up using this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080945a5ac2ea6fd0-march1
