Tales from the Trail Book Club

Hartman Reserve Nature Center, Black Hawk County

Sunday, January 28, 2024

Explore the natural world through words with Tales from the Trail, Hartman Reserve's nature based book club! With new picks monthly, members will have the opportunity to expand their world view while learning about conservation, wildlife, and natural sciences. Members will meet on Sunday, January 28th at 1 PM to participate in guided discussion and share their thoughts and ideas, as well as to pick out the book for the following month.

The pick for January is Nature's Best Hope: A New Approach to Conservation That Starts in Your Yard by Douglas W. Tallamy. This book advocates for a new approach to conservation by encouraging homeowners to turn their yards into conservation corridors that provide wildlife habitats, which can help preserve our precious wildlife and the planet for future generations.

We hope to see you between the pages!

The club has a minimal cost of $2/adult to ensure attendance/RSVP and to cover event fees. We want to make this an affordable social gathering for like-minded book worms, like we are here at the Nature Center. Members are responsible for obtaining their own copy of the book.

Refund Policy: Refunds will only be given in the case of a documented medical emergency or funeral for programs more than $10. If program cost is under $10, a program voucher will be offered for a future program. If a program is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen reasons, then a similar program will be offered in its place.
