The Buena Vista County Conservation Board is hosting a new program call Birds in the Afternoon. Birds in the Afternoon will feature a different bird species each program. This program is designed for all ages. The month of August’s topic will be the ruby throated hummingbird.  Learn tips to attract this bird to your yard including how to make your own nectar and plants for containers and beds.     On Friday, August 11th at 2:00 PM, a program on hummingbirds will be offered at the Buena Vista County Conservation Office.  Each program will offer coffee, lemonade, and an assortment of baked goods.  If you plan on attending, please let Katie know by Wednesday, August 9th by calling 712-295-7985.
