Trindle Park Open Shelterhouse

In 1973, the Dallas County Conservation Board purchased 24.57 acres of land from the George and Myrtle Trindle estate with the land to be used as a public park. A beautiful property, Trindle Park overlooks the city of Van Meter and provides a view for several miles.

The Trindle Park Open Shelterhouse is an open-air shelter adjacent to a playground. It has electrical outlets and nearby modern restrooms.

From Interstate 80, take exit 113.
Go south on County Road R16.
Continue on R16, turning left at the T intersection.
Turn right on Richland Circle. The park entrance is on the right.

Hours of Operation & Seasons

In May-October, Trindle Park hours are 8:00am-10:00pm daily. Restrooms are open. 
In November and April, Trindle Park hours are 8:00am-5:00pm daily. Restrooms are closed.
In December-March, Trindle Park is closed. Restrooms are closed.

The area must be vacated before closing time.
