Want to learn more about Compost and How to Make Your Own Compost Bin? Come attend this event by Green Iowa AmeriCorps members on Friday, November 19th from 3:30 pm - 4:30pm. We will be discussing what compost is, its benefits, the difference between food scrap sending up in the landfill vs. being composted, and what a linear and circular concept is. We will begin the workshop, with a brief presentation that will help gain a better understanding of how food scraps can be turned into compost. Following the presentation, participants will then have the opportunity to make their own compost bin through three different stations: lining the bin, food scraps, and decorating the bin. All ages are welcome for this event and registration is required. 1 compost bin per family.
