In this hands-on basic fire-building class, you will build fires using ferrocerium rods, magnesium shavings, and char cloth. We will also explore traditional fire-making methods including flint and steel, and friction fire-making techniques. It involves experimentation, critical thinking, trial and error. You're encouraged to bring a small food or drink item to cook over the fire upon completion. Parents and guardians do not need to attend this camp with their children. Ages 9-11. Cost $10.
