JPEC New Volunteer Orientation

Jester Park, Polk County

Friday, March 11, 2016

Thank you for your interest in becoming a valued member of our team that helps makes our Jester Park Equestrian Center (JPEC) a success!

We need help in virtually every aspect of the barn. From helping with daily chores to assisting with our equine events we are happy with any helping hand. Here are some of our programs that you can become trained in to volunteer with: Therapeutic Horsemanship Program, Tiny Tots Riding Lessons, Summer Camps, Equine Events, Barn Projects and many more. We value the volunteers that come once a year to help in our concession stand at our annual Pony Express to Santa to our dedicated volunteers who come every week and assist with our instructors and their riding classes.

This training will cover topics such as: Barn and Horse Safety, JPEC Program Overview, Volunteer Expectations, and Basic Horse Handling.

If you'd like more information about the specifics of JPEC's Volunteer Program, please contact Molly Mellinger, Program Coordinator, at Molly.Mellinger@polkcountyiowa.gov. You can also email the attached documents before the volunteer training or bring them the day of.
