Outdoor skills being presented during this camp include:

  • Orienteering & Compass
  • Survival/Camping
  • Canoeing & Water Safety
  • Muzzle loading
  • Fur Harvesting
  • Archery
  • Hunter Education (needed to obtain an Iowa hunting license) 
  • Fish Iowa

All instruction is done by DNR conservation officers, biologists and other personnel, county conservation board naturalists and representatives from other agencies like the Natural Resource Conservation Service and Iowa State University.  This event fills quickly! To be eligible in this event you have to be ages 12-15, and not attended in previous years to allow opportunity for all to attend.  There are two sets of dates offered they are June 20-22 and August 1-3, 2012.  
This events $100 registration fee is covered by the Sioux Prairie Pheasants Forever Chapter for those girls that Sioux county residents.
