An optional $7.50 luncheon follows the program at 12 noon. Registration and payment for lunch are required the Friday prior to each program. No registration is required to attend the free program.
Neta Snook presented by Rosemary Harris.
Come hear the first-person portrayal of Neta Snook given by Rosemary Harris who tells the story of a fearless: forgotten aviator who was the first female aviator ever accepted into flying school and to run a commercial airfield. Neta Snook is not a native Iowan, although she got her education in Ames. As a pioneer aviatrix she did achieve a long list of firsts, many in Iowa. Neta Snook flew competitions where she was the only woman but her most memorable achievement was teaching Amelia Earhart to fly, which is often overlooked.
Menu: Beef & Noodles, Mashed Potatoes, Corn, Dinner Roll, Apple Crisp
