O.W.L.S. programs are designed for "boomers" or older, but anyone is welcome to attend.  These free programs are held the first Tuesday of each month beginning at 11:00 a.m.   at the Story County Conservation Center (56461 180th Street, Ames).   

 

An optional $7.50 luncheon follows the program at 12 noon.  Registration and payment for lunch are required the Friday prior to each program.  No registration is required to attend the free program.

 

Unconditional Surrender:  A Visit with Ulysses S. Grant presented by Peter Grady, Marshalltown Community Theatre.

Ulysses S. Grant comes to life in this informative, humorous, and touching portrayal.  Meet the victorious General whose strategy and tenacity won the Civil War, the President who struggled to rebuild his country after the war and the husband and father whose final efforts were devoted to support of his wife and family.

 

Menu:  Baked Potato Bar: Chili, Broccoli, Bacon Bits, Warm Cheese, Butter, Sour Cream, Ham, and Salsa, and Peach Crisp
