Description
Full time position with county benefits. At will position appointed by and reporting to the Conservation Board Executive Director. Under general supervision; assists in the implementation, development, maintenance and operations of areas under management of the Conservation Board. Some essential duties include:
• providing care and maintenance of live animals and exhibits
• conducting ground preparation and planting for conservation management, including application of herbicides
• operating equipment, including tractors, loaders, trucks, augers, tree planters, seed drills, tree trimmers, chain saws, sprayers, and various power tools
• cutting and felling of trees
• mowing and grounds maintenance
• maintaining machinery, tools, and equipment.
Must possess, or be able to obtain a valid Class A Iowa Commercial Drivers License within 6 months, S130/S190 training within 6 months, and State of Iowa Pesticide Applicator's Permit within 12 months. Drug testing shall be required as allowed by state law. Must pass a physical fitness test.

Qualifications
An Associate’s Degree in a natural resources or agricultural field and one or more years work-related experience. Will consider high school diploma or GED and three years education and/or work-related experience. Other requirements are listed below.
