Description
The Park Ranger position, under the supervision of the Conservation Director, will assist with the daily maintenance activities of the County Conservation Department. Duties include operating equipment and tools associated with park maintenance, along with assistance of land management activities under the control of the Conservation Board. This position will enforce Code of Iowa and Conservation Board rules which include arrest authority, issuing warnings and citations, and maintaining a safe environment for the public. This position will perform diverse tasked associated with the maintenance of the county's parks, trails and wildlife areas. Work will be performed in Kennedy Park, Camp WaNoKi, Gypsum City OHV Park and other natural areas. This position will require a non-standard work week and will include nights, holidays and weekends. Applicants must possess a valid Driver's License. Start date for this position will be early May. Application deadline is by 4:30 pm on Friday, February 28th.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited 4 year college with a degree in natural resources or related field, or a 2 year degree with at least 2 years practical work experience. Possess Iowa Peace Officer Certification or be able to obtain within a year of hire
