Campground Host

CAMPGROUND HOST – SCOPE OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Hosts Needed for Massey Marina, Swiss Valley Park and Finley's Landing Campgrounds. 

Assisting the Public

·         The Host(s) shall provide information and assistance to the public by answering questions, handing out brochures, trail maps, etc.  In the case of questions that cannot be answered by the host, the customer will be referred to one of the full-time park employees for an answer. Firewood

·         Customers will be notified that firewood will be sold for one hour daily where available.  Time of sale at ________________________ is _____________ PM in the campground. (Campground host will determine time) Shower Facility

·         The shower house facility will be checked at least twice daily – afternoon and evening and cleaning will be recorded on a log in the shower house.

·         Replace any toilet paper dispensers that are empty.

·         Replace trash can liners as needed.

·         Refill soap dispensers as needed.

·         Pick up any garbage in restroom stalls and on floors, counters, etc.

·         Clean toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors and counters as needed.

·         Any broken items or problems will be reported to the park staff as soon as possible.

Hours and Other Duties and Responsibilities

·         A normal presence is required in the park during the week from Thursday to Sunday; and on Mondays of holiday weekends.  If the host is going to be gone for an extended amount of time, the host will inform park staff at least 1 week prior to being absent unless there is an emergency.

·         Park staff will be notified immediately of any problems in the campground, violations of rules and regulations, campsite disputes, accidents and any other emergency situations.  This position does not perform any law enforcement duties or actions.

·         Some light campground maintenance may be performed that is mutually agreed upon between the host and park staff.

Miscellaneous

·         The Department will provide cleaning supplies, equipment and training for necessary tasks.

·         Host selected for a seasonal position will be required to complete certain training sessions prior to commencement of duties.

·         Hosts will be required to provide documentation of services performed on forms provided by the Department.

·         Hosts selected will be required to sign an agreement with the Dubuque County Conservation Board which includes a “Hold Harmless” clause.
