Canoe Kids Camp (completed 6th grade - 8th grade)

This camp is for kids who have completed 6th grade through 8th grade and are eager to spend some time on the water! Campers will spend their first day at Rock Creek where they will learn basic skills like pitching a tent, paddling a canoe and starting a fire. These skills will help them as they go out on the water for an overnight adventure on day two and three! This camp requires energy, ambition and willing to learn new things! Naturalists Hannah and Kari have a lot of experience in paddling with all ages and have spent a lot of time on the river which will help ensure a safe and fun trip! The location of the overnight trip will be determined closer to the camp dates as the weather, water levels and flooding changes to ensure a great and safe location. Forms are due upon registration via email at hedfors@clintoncounty-ia.gov. If forms are not submitted by registration close (5/20) your child will be prohibited from attending and we will move onto the next person on the waiting list. The information is needed to plan the camp accordingly!
