Shell Rock Shelter

One of the first areas ever acquired by the Butler County Conservation Board is the Shell Rock Recreation Area, which is located on the west edge of Shell Rock. Approximately 130 acres in size, this area features both a recreational area for the enjoyment of humans and a wildlife area as a safe place for wildlife. Shell Rock Recreation Area offers lake and river fishing and a replanted prairie. You will also find boat and canoe access, picnic shelters, a dump station, and a playground.
