Worth County Lake




Worth County Lake is a day use park that used to be a sand pit.

Location

East of Kensett, Ia on 400th St for two miles take a left as soon as you cross the Shell Rock River, the road will T, take a left and follow the road as it turns north for 0.5 miles and then turn right on 420th St.

Features

This is a day use park, there is no camping.  There is a large picnic shelter with a covered grill and a children's play area.  There are also horse shoe pits and a sand volley ball court.  The old sand pit has fish in it and there is a walking bridge that ties the area together.  This park is adjacent to Turkeyfoot Prairie WMA which is open to hunting and is a good bird watching area and has a fen.  To view an aerial photo of the area http://worthia.mygisonline.com/?pin=0726100008.
